Usaima Siddiqi, DO, MS, FAWM
Usaima graduated from University of Central Florida with a degree in Molecular Biology and MIcrobiology.  She then earned her medical degree and masters in Health Professions Education along with completing her pre-doctoral fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific.  She is dual boarded in Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine, completing her residency program at ARIA Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, PA. She is also a fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine. Her passions include providing medical care internationally in both high acuity and rural settings, along with using NMM/OMM to enhance patient care.
Usaima's work with Doctors of the Americas has included resident recruitment and education to better serve our El Salvadorian patients and their families.  


Audrey Chen, OD

Dr. Chen grew up in the heart of Silicon Valley in the San Francisco Bay Area. She attended University of California, Berkeley and received a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular Cell Biology. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry from UC Berkeley School of Optometry. Dr. Chen continued her optometric training through residency in Primary Care at The Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. She is a former faculty member of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Chen is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Optometry at Castle Family Health Center in Atwater, California. Dr. Chen looks forward to her annual trips to El Salvador with Doctors of the Americas. 

 

Eileen Howard, OD

Dr. Howard hails from Windham, Pennsylvania in the Endless Mountains region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. She graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. Later, she obtained her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. Dr. Howard works in private practice at Cortland  Eye Center in Cortland, in Cortland, New York. Dr. Howard is passionate about providing vision care to the underserved populations of El Salvador. 




Drs. Chen and Howard lead a team of optometry students from the organization SVOSH (Student Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity) on these week-long trips. Each year, the optometry team delivers free eyeglasses, medications, and hundreds of eye exams to the underprivileged in a free clinic setting.

Tung Nguyen, DO


Tung graduated from Haverford College with a degree in Biology and Economics, and earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a combined residency in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine at Aria Jefferson Health in Philadelphia and a Critical Care fellowship at Aria Jefferson Health. Dr. Nguyen is currently and Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit attending at Fulton County Medical Center. Dr. Nguyen also does locum tenens work in a variety of remote locations throughout the United States.








Courtney Geis Ercole, MSW, PA-C


Courtney graduated from The Catholic University of America in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. She went on to Temple University where she earned her Master's Degree in Social Work. She worked for ten years at Moss Rehab, both as a clinical social worker in the traumatic brain injury unit and as a clinical liaison. In 2012, Courtney graduated from Hahnemann/Drexel University Physician Assistant Program where she is now a faculty member after working as a Physician Assistant in Primary Care for many years. Courtney has been on multiple trips to El Salvador with Doctors of the Americas. She has taken a leadership role in fundraising for our organization.Her guiding principle is servant leadership.


Michelle Chan, DO, MS, FAWM


Michelle graduated from Franklin and Marshall College with a degree in biology and sociology.  She earned her masters in cancer pharmacogenetics from the State University of New York Buffalo and her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Michelle is a graduate of  Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine residency program at Aria Jefferson Health in Philadelphia.  She is also a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine.

Michelle's work with Doctor's of the Americas is caring for patients.
